Monkey to Man is a song about the rat race of modern life. The opening lyric ‘Monkey to man, happened too fast’ builds on the idea that evolution has catapulted us into a demanding & technological age, while we are still bound to our animal like instincts more than we might like to admit. The song playfully takes on common topics of society e.a. lust for money, the perfect body (‘do you work out?’) and ever growing rent increase. Within these boundaries it tries to establish the role we play in our own life; did we come to say hello, or come to goodbye?
